When you think of the South of Spain you think of beautiful sand beaches, hot weather and certainly not skiing, however only 75km from Salobreña is the mountain range Sierra Nevada.

The ski resort of Sol y Nieve is situated 2100m above sea level – Although known as Sol y Nieve the actual village is called Pradollano.

This is a purpose built ski resort with good facilities and a fantastic après ski scene.  The resort by day is bustling and has a very Spanish feel to it. At night it comes alive until the early hours of the morning – but don’t expect it to get busy until at the very earliest -midnight.

The resort is growing in popularity year on year; we have noticed over the last years an increased number of British due to the introduction of direct flights from the UK to Granada International Airport. Many are realising that this neat and compact resort has a lot going for it with pretty much guaranteed sunshine, some of the best spring conditions in Europe, a long season from the end of November until the end of April and the fact that it is extremely well priced.

The resort is predominantly beginner/intermediate – One of the best places to learn in Europe.

Try and avoid at weekends as it does get very busy – especially if there has been a recent dump of snow.
